Nature is very creative. If we take time to stop and look around as we move through our day, we may be surprised at what we find. We often don’t pause long enough to notice nature’s artistry until we go on…

    Our Vacation Home

    May 25, 2023 / 2 Comments

Two years ago we resurrected our desire to go camping. Covid had found us spending most of our time at home, which was not a big problem since we have plenty of beautiful wooded land to enjoy on Salt Spring Island.…

    August 13, 2022 / No Comments

Yesterday David and I decided to explore the trail that runs along the Goldstream River where we are camping. There are a number of beautiful trails in this area, but we definitely wanted to walk this one since you could hear…

    August 11, 2022 / 2 Comments

I had never heard of Milner Gardens and Woodland on Vancouver Island until a few weeks ago, but I was immediately fascinated by its historic designation and the lure of the 10 acres of gardens on a 70 acre property overlooking…

    On the Road Again

    August 7, 2022 / No Comments

The weather is looking great and it’s time to get another camping trip in this year. This will be the 4th place we have travelled to in 2022 – exploring “new to us” campgrounds in BC, and what fun it has…

    Captivated by Rathtrevor

May 2022 – Weekend at French Beach

    June 25, 2022 / No Comments

French Beach Provincial Park is relatively small with only 69 campsites available. Since the campground is usually full, we were lucky to be able to reserve a site for the holiday weekend in May. The location of our site is shown…

    Day 3 – Sunshine!

    May 19, 2022 / No Comments

Silence… This is what we woke up to on the third morning of our camping trip – precious silence, except for the sounds of the birds welcoming spring. No rain dripping onto the tent, either from the clouds or the treetops.…

About Me

I have been writing and publishing articles since I was a teenager. It is a bit startling to realize that I have been doing this for so long. I began with short newspaper reports during high school, then moved on to newsletters for various organizations. This blog was created in 2010 to report on my trip to Paris, and I now post occasionally on various subjects as the spirit moves. I hope you enjoy it!
