Walking Goldstream Trail
Yesterday David and I decided to explore the trail that runs along the Goldstream River where we are camping.

There are a number of beautiful trails in this area, but we definitely wanted to walk this one since you could hear the river and catch glimpses of it through the trees.

On the map you can see the river at the bottom. The trail we walked, called the Upper Goldstream Trail, runs along the river which is actually several feet below in a small gorge.
Although it appears on the map as if the campsites are close to the trail, they are actually located higher up the cliff and cannot be seen from the trail.
We had the trail to ourselves for most of the walk which was a delight.

The shades of green and gold accented with browns from the trees and stumps was mesmerizing. Refreshing in so many ways!
The gold of the sap dripping from this tree as it shone in the sun was glorious, and look at these shades of red and green deep in this woodpecker-created hole. Nature’s colour palette!

What a feast for the soul! This is one reason we love camping. It gives us the chance to explore more of the wondrous variety and beauty of nature.

Our walk was almost over, but we did manage to get close to Goldstream River at one point along the trail. The river is not very high at this time of year, more like a stream, but still very beautiful. There are huge boulders in places and you can imagine the water crashing over and around them in the spring.
I’ll end with a video I took while standing there. I find it hard to resist capturing the soothing sound and beauty of a stream. Turn up the sound to get the full benefit of the experience.
