Fashion Show – 1950s Style
When my sister, Jeannette, and I were young, our mother made many of our dresses. Recently, I was looking through some old photos and thought it would be fun to post a few of them. A fashion show of sorts, from the 1950s.
You’ll have to excuse the quality of the pictures. Photography back then wasn’t what it is today when everyone has the latest camera in their cell phones. Also, some of these photos have been lurking in hastily stuffed envelopes in drawers, forgotten for many years.

The photos range from 1952 (the 4 girls together with my younger sister and I in the middle) to 1957 with my father standing by the railing at Niagara Falls. In 1954 we were flower girls at our uncle’s wedding, and in the 1955 photo, we are posed with our parents in front of the house that my father was building for us in Uxbridge, Ontario.
Enjoy the show!
